Laser Periodontal Therapy™

Laser Periodontal Therapy (LANAP) is a laser-based approach to treatment of gum disease using an Nd:YAG free running pulsed laser. Patients experience less pain, less bleeding, less swelling, and less recovery time.

The reasons we use Laser Periodontal Therapy are: to remove only the diseased tissue without removing any of the healthy tissue, to maintain the height of the tissue around teeth, and to minimize pain and discomfort to the patient. Healing is faster since much less tissue is removed as opposed to conventional surgery. Patients also experience little to no tooth sensitivity because root exposure is kept to minimum. Controlling periodontal disease makes it possible to save and restore periodontally diseased teeth that otherwise would be lost.
